Artist Statement

Kathy Daley is a West Coast artist whose recent work explores the anxiety around climate change, the impact it has on our daily lives and what it means to co-exist with chaos.

Using thick impasto oil paint and the vivid colour palette she’s known for, Kathy explores how we deal with imminent danger while trying to carry on with our everyday lives.

Benign activities are juxtaposed with impending doom. Should we face trouble head on or forge ahead with a peaceful moment while we can? An unexpectedly timely exploration as COVID-19 redefines our lives.
