Royce Howland, ASA


Royce Howland is a photographer based in Calgary, Alberta. His goal is   to present personal, vivid glimpses of the world, often working at the  intersection of the land and human culture. His creative process uses a blend of in-camera capture, digital development process and digital printing to compose and express his sense of subject and light.

In addition to his fine art photography, Royce contributes photographs, articles and interviews to publications on the web and in print. Publication credits include the Calgary Herald, Outdoor Photography Canada, Photo Life, Audubon’s American Birds, and Birder’s World. Royce leads and   co-leads photography tours and workshops, and gives photography-related presentations to photography, arts and community organizations.
