Throughout my life it seems that I have been destined to travel.

Born in London, Ont., I was raised in Winnipeg, Fort Churchill and Burnaby, B.C.

I have lived in Calgary, South Africa, Philadelphia, Pa., Australia and Singapore.

1964 – Attended Vancouver School of Art.

1968-1971 – Mount Royal College in Calgary.

1982-1983 – Caulfield Institute in Melbourne, Australia.

1986 – University of Alberta.

I am a member of the Alberta Society of Artists.

In 1997 three of my paintings were chosen to participate in the AFA Muttart Travelling Exhibition Program. They were on tour for three years.

In April, 1998, I participated in the Southern Alberta Zone Juried Art Show sponsored by the Alberta Community Arts Clubs Association, where I received Honorable Mention for my ‘Fireweed and Pussy Toes’.

Two of my paintings were selected to appear in the Albertawide 1998 19th Annual Juried Exhibition in Red Deer.

In June, 2000 I exhibited my works at the Crowsnest Pass Allied Arts Association Gallery with fellow artist, Jim Blair, a water colorist. The show was aptly named ‘Oil and Water Mixed’.

In July, 2001 I was the featured artist in the Willock & Sax Gallery with my show “The Colour Red”. The Gallery described the show “With her characteristic energetic style, Crowsnest Pass artist Lynda Wheaton draws her inspiration from nature and the colour red.”

In 2005 my painting, “The Crooked Fence” was purchased by The Alberta Foundation for the Arts.

For the past twenty years I have been living and painting in Lundbreck, Alberta.
