Diaspora

November 5 - November 30

Diaspora means “to scatter” in Greek and traditionally referred to dispersion or migration of a people. Today this word has gained a gained a broader meaning to describe any community living outside their shared country of origin or ancestry.  Alternately, scattering can be applied to animals, plants, things or abstract ideas.

Coordinated by the Alberta Society of Artists, artists in Alberta were invited to visually present what “Diaspora” means to them.
