Enriching the Arts

The Artist’s Lens 2019: It’s Not About the Camera

The Alberta Society of Artists invites all ASA Juried, Life & Associate Members and members of the public to participate in the exhibition, “The Artists Len, 2019”. The exhibit opens at the new Calgary Central Library and coincides with Exposure Photo Festival.

“It’s not about the camera.” The camera and photographic software are only tools, however technologically advanced they may be. The concept of the “artist’s lens” relates to the idea of a personal and singular vision.
All work submitted has to be authenticated with edition number, title and signature. Digital prints on canvas will not be accepted.

OVERVIEW

The Artist Lens is an open themed exhibit looking to present the best of film, digital and every photography approach in between.

He trained in photography, film and the sciences at the University of Southern California and holds an M.A. from the University of Toronto.
Bill is deeply interested in photography as an expressive tool for the art of seeing. Equally, he is curious about the unique and individual emotional experience a viewer has when experiencing an image. His own images reflect an interest in modulus, structure and formalism. www.billpeters.ca
