Enriching the Arts

Diaspora

Diaspora means “to scatter” in Greek and traditionally referred to dispersion or migration of a people. Today this word has gained a gained a broader meaning to describe any community living outside their shared country of origin or ancestry.  Alternately, scattering can be applied to animals, plants, things or abstract ideas.
