His All Starr Band, Carole Bondaroff

Q & A with the ASA

ASA: Can you tell us about your influences?

Carole: Theatre and Music performances are strong influences for my art imagery. “His All Starr Band”  is a recent lithograph with chine collé,depicting Ringo Starr in all of his glory, multiple times with his band-mates.I produced this litho this summer at Atelier de lÌle in Québec, with artist, Paul Ballard, as technician. I sketched the drawings for this image, at Ringo Starr`s concert at the Calgary Jubilee Auditorium last fall. “King of the Lions” is a multiple plate etching with watercolour. I sketched the drawings for this image while attending the musical “The Lion King” here in Calgary. I have worked on a “Performance Series” for many years, exploring a multitude of techniques.
