ASA Q & A

ASA: Could you tell us about your influences?
Bob: New Brunswick photographer Freeman Patterson, who wrote the Forward to the book Flying Colours, had a profound influence on my taking photography seriously as a mode of creative expression. Studying the 20th century masters helped open my eyes. But the progress of image making technology has had the most lasting influence, always informed by the possibilities and the pitfalls thereof.

ASA: Which body of your work would you consider most successful to date?
Bob: The international touring exhibition ‘Flying Colours – Design on the Wing’ is still the most widely seen and successful body of work.
